REVISION OF ENERGY REGULATION (GENERAL REGULATIONS) FEES SCHEDULE
Following the enactment of the Energy Regulation Act No. 12 of 2019 and the Electricity Act No 11 of 2019, the Energy Regulation Board (ERB) has undertaken development of subsidiary legislation in order to operationalise the two new pieces of legislation which includes the Licensing (General) Regulations which will facilitate licensing procedures under ERB.
The ERB intend to revoke the current Statutory Instrument No. 2 of 1998 (current Licensing Regulations) which falls short of providing all relevant procedural matters related to licensing under the new Acts.
However, as part of the revocation, the Board proposes to adopt the current fee schedule contained in the SI No. 2 of 1998 with amendments on the wording of the cost lines in order to align the schedule to the new Acts. Further, the Board proposes to introduce a few nominal fees which have been provided for under new Acts as follows:
