INTRODUCTION OF REGULATORY FRAMEWORK FOR NUMBER PLATE MANUFACTURING AND EMBOSSING OF REGISTRATION MARKS3
The Regulation seeks to provide a regulatory framework for the manufacture of blank number plates and embossing of registration marks and numbers. While the Act requires a person who manufactures registration marks and numbers to obtain a permit from RTSA, there is no law that sets out the procedure for applying for a permit, the fees payable, the conditions subject to which the permit is issued, and other matters relating to suspension or revocation of permits. In default, the Agency administratively, devised a mechanism for people to apply for the permits and also designed a permit which is issued to applicants.
