Proposed Implementing Regulations for the Communications Technology Association of Zambia Act No 7 of 2018

Summary

  • The Information and Communications Technology Association of Zambia (ICTAZ) formerly Computer Society of Zambia, is a professional body established by an Act of Parliament, ICTAZ Act No. 7 of 2018 and provides for its functions; provide for the registration of information and communications technology professionals and regulate their professional conduct in the interest of the information and communications technology sector; and provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing.

    In this regard, the Association intends to issue regulations to exercise the powers contained in specific sections of the Act and to support its implementation hereof.

    Statutory Instrument for (General) Regulations: In exercise of the powers contained in section 11 and section 56 of the Information and Communications Technology Act.

    Statutory Instrument for (Disciplinary Proceedings) Rules: In exercise of the powers contained in section 59 of the Information and Communications Technology Act.

    Statutory Instruments for Procedures and Appeals: In exercise of the powers contained in section 48 of the Information and Communications Technology Act.

    ICTAZ invites its members, stakeholders and all interested parties to submit comments on the three draft statutory instruments. All comments can be submitted through to the Business Regulatory Review Agency (BRRA) ‘notice and comment’ online portal.
